hey i run a z7000 at .7 ohms on 3 planet audio ap12 subs  an i cant seem to keep a steady wattage coming out of it . i have it running off of a yellow top optima that has 2 gauge running to it stright from the alt  . the amp never goes under 12.5 volts an the best i can get out of it that is steady wattage it 1050 - 1100 . some times it will pull 1700 , 1500  , 1300 , but i can never make it  do it all the  time . i have all my grounds upgraded  an have done the big 3 . what can i do to  make this amp put out a steady 1500-1700 watts ?

thanks so much

You are most likely running into impedance rise

what can i do to help this ?
i know the last show i went to when i pulled the 1700 watts out of it i had a batt cap ran to it as well . an steve the guy who runs mid west spl said i had good imp rise .an that the amp is power hungry .

whats the most wattage people have pulled out of this amp ?  i was thinking about up grading my alt from 95 amp to a 130 an getting another batt .

First, I'd like to ask how are you establishing the idea that you have fluctuation in output power?

What gauge power wire is running to the amp?

The amps were tested and rated at 13.8v input.

well every time we have a comp they clamp the amps to check your wattage to make sure you dont go over  2000 watts   the amp has about 2 foot  of 2 gauge  running from the yellow top to the fuse  then in to the amp . the amp does not drop lower then 12.8 volts  when its turned up for test tones .

so is the 1500x1 @13.8 an rms rating ?

Well that's a reasonable answer.

Yes, the amp is rated 1500 x 1 @ 1ohm - 13.8volts

Your best bet may be to contact our technical dept.
