I'm looking at getting either 2x 12" or 2x 15" Wild Beast subs. I will be powering them with an FXA-1200 amp so 600WRMS per woofer. What would be the best enclosure for an SQL setup with these woofers? I'm looking to hit 130+ Db because my last setup metered in the high 120's and I would like at least a little more.
Thanks,
-Ryan
Edit: The vehicle is a 98 Nissan Altima. I could squeeze 6 cubes out of the trunk if I needed to.Last edited on Fri Dec 5th, 2008 12:45 pm by Drunken.Swagger

Hey Chef & Omar,
Thanks for all your help. I'm really looking forward to getting some Beast in my setup. I've already got a fantastic front stage thanks to Cadence, so hopefully they can bring my sub-stage up to the same level.

| What type of music do you listen to? Fro the Wildbeast the type of music you listen to will greatly affect the out put that you want! I have learned that it is really hard to compete and have a daily driver. with my twelves i was at a 146.3 db's daily so a 130 shouldn't be to bad. But let me have some more info and I can help you out k.

In the car, when I have my system, it's mostly rap. I do listen to a mix of everything from folk to rock to hardcore and everything in between though.
Also, I just found a deal on some DC Sound Labs Level 2 15's. I know, I just can't make up my mind. While the WB's would be nice, they would require a new amp and end up totaling around $400. With the DC's I could continue to use the amps I already have and only end up at around $200-250.
What would you do?

study this..... i have 2 cadence wildbeast 12's in 2 seperate jbl home sub boxes, the amplifiers for the sub boxes are dead, so im playing the 2 wildbeast 12's full range in those boxes with some jbl control 25's & they are totally playing low & natural..(FULL RANGE), you would have to try it... they are unbelieveable....
try this with other subs & hear how they perform...

Okay since you listen to alot of diffrent music like me I would suggest you go with a sealed box! I have had many ported box's and they were great for rap and bsss cd's but unless you got some really good midrange then you are really going to miss the bass guitar on the rock tracks not to mention no kickdrums at all!!!!! I am looking at getting the 10inch wildbeast for my next pronect which is SQ and pu them in my wifes's car which i will be getting soon and she will have something else!LOL If you want to go ported I would tune them inbetween 40 and 45 hertz that way you can get some of the sound out of the rock music you listen to! But Personally I would choose the Beast over the DC audio!!!! But thats just me!LOL Hope this helps!!! Amadeus1000

Mid-bass won't be a problem. I'll be doing an active 3-way setup in the front soon with the CVL-6K set and either some 8" or 10" drivers for mid-bass. (Still looking for suggestions for those drivers...)
With that in mind, the subs will really only be used for rap and techno...

ell with that in mind then i would tune them to 30 or 35 hertz and let all that lovely low bass shake your inerds around!!!!LOL Now the CVL 6K's Cross them over kinda high, like 80 hertz or something! As far as the mid bass get the 10 inch slim series subs and cross them to 80hertz on down that way youre front stage blends with the back but be sure that you take into account the power that will be on youre subs!!! Bass needs more wattage to get loud but the futher away you are from it the louder it gets. now youre higns dont need as much wattage but you want to make sure that they can keep up with what your subs will be doing! Sincerly Amadeus1000
